Graduate Certificate in Systems Development

Aims

The aim of this course is to provide professionals in the IT industry with a course of study in Systems Development that is current, relevant and integrates industry certification in the field.

Objectives

Upon completion of this course, graduates will possess:

  • At least one industry certification from one of the following organisations:
    • Microsoft
    • Oracle
    • PMI
    • ITIL
  • Skills in the design, implementation and management of computer systems;
  • Systems development knowledge and skills;
  • Skills in identifying requirements and defining solution architectures;
  • Problem-solving skills and methodologies when troubleshooting and documenting systems problems;
  • The ability to analyse complex client business and technical requirements and select appropriate solutions, and
  • Skills in the development and deployment of solutions that meet customer business objectives for functionality, performance, and cost.

Course Structure:

To graduate with the Graduate Certificate, students must satisfactorily complete 4 subjects from the Master of Systems Development, two of which must be industry certification subjects (industry certification subjects are subjects that start with the prefix ‘ITI’, 'ITE', or 'MGI').   For a full list of the subjects available in the Master of Systems Development, click on the industry stream that you are interested in:

Academic credit is available to students who can provide proof that they have passed relevant industry examinations. Request more information to obtain an estimate of your credit entitlements.

NOTE: The actual level of credit awarded will be confirmed upon acceptance into the Masters Degree.
