Digital Forensics Stream
Aims:
The aim of these courses is to provide professionals in the IT industry with advanced courses of study in information technology management that are current, relevant and integrate industry certification in this field. These courses incorporate significant components of industry training, including formal industry-stream certifications from the SANS Institute, GIAC, EC Council, (ISC)², Cisco and Check Point.
Objectives:
Upon completion of this course, graduates will possess:
- An informed and reflexive perspective on IT security issues;
- Advanced skills in the design, implementation and management of secure computer networks;
- Skills in IT risk management issues;
- Skills in identifying and producing solutions to threats that endanger information system resources;
- Competence in determining common best practices to secure a computing enterprise;
- IT security industry certification from organisations such as the EC-Council, the GIAC and the ISC²;
- Problem solving skills and methodologies when troubleshooting and documenting complex computing security problems;
- The ability to analyse complex client business security requirements and select appropriate solutions, and
- Skills in the development of leading edge security solutions that meet customer business objectives for functionality and performance.

Industry Certifications
This Masters incorporates the following industry certifications as core or elective subjects:
- The Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from the GIAC organisation and SANS Institute;
- The Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) from the GIAC organisation and SANS Institute;
- The Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI) cert from the EC Council;
- The Certified Computer Examiner (CCE) from the The International Society of Forensic Computer Examiners
- The Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP®) industry certification exam from the International;
- Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC)²);
- The Certified Forensics Analyst (GCFA) industry certification from the GIAC organisation and SANS Institute, and
- The Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) industry certification from the EC-Council.
Course Structure:
The Course consists of 12 subjects with a total value of 96 points.
For students that do not qualify for any credit, the recommended duration to complete the Masters Degrees is 2 years. There are 3 sessions per year and we recommend a commitment of 2 subjects per session.
