Course Details

Graduates from these qualifications will have achieved at least four of the following:

  • Demonstrate comprehensive theoretical and conceptual background and associated skills in the area of IT;
  • Demonstrate sufficient skills to explore new ideas, strategies and specific tools for integrating IT into the curriculum ;
  • Be able to effectively use a range of software to assess, diagnose and support learning;
  • Be able to develop and apply information technology based interventions designed to meet the needs of students in the classroom;
  • Be able to compare and contrast alternative approaches to the use of ICT in the classroom;
  • Be able to critically evaluate the potential educational applications of a range of software tools available to teachers in a school context 

Entry requirements

Applicants must:

  • hold the degree of Bachelor of Education or equivalent from an approved tertiary institution and have a minimum of 1 years experience in an educational role at graduate level;
    or
  • hold the degree of Bachelor of Education (Honours) or equivalent from an approved tertiary institution;
    or
  • hold a Bachelor degree or equivalent from an approved tertiary institution with an end-on integrated professional teaching qualification (such as a Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or Bachelor of Teaching);
    or
  • possess other qualifications deemed to be equivalent by the Faculty.

The Graduate Certificate in ICT in Education is designed in partnership with the Master of ICT in Education. The Graduate Certificate can be stand alone or, upon successful completion, students may proceed (with full credit) into the Master of ICT in Education.
