Free Short Course: Enterprise Cyber Security Fundamentals

This course heavily focuses on cyber security from a technical perspective.


Join our resident networking and cyber security expert, Matt Constable, to discuss some of the fundamentals of cyber security from technical and design perspectives. Students will gain an understanding of the importance of security in the bigger picture of enterprise network architecture and how various security technologies and tools can be used to create a secure cyber environment.

Who will present the webinars?

These webinars are presented by our senior industry based networking and cyber security lecturer, Matt Constable. Matt’s experience and qualifications include:

  • 15 years as a network engineer, cyber security analyst and communications engineer
  • Managed a team of engineers who provided L3 support on a network with 110 remote sites and 7000 users
  • Designed, developed, and delivered the cyber security fundamentals subject in the Master Cyber Security at Charles Sturt University
  • Has a total of 6 academic qualifications including a Master of Computer Security, a Certificate IV in Training & Assessment and a Graduate Diploma in Psychology
  • Extensive experience as a sports coach and martial arts instructor

Why a Cyber Security Fundamentals Short Course?

This course is designed to provide a taste of the Cyber Security Fundamentals Subject which is core foundation subject in the Master of Cyber Security and the Master of Information Systems Security. This short course can also help students prepare for the Security+ industry certification which has been developed by the International Computer Technology Industry Association (CompTIA),.

Is there a final exam?

Yes – the short course exam will be a timed, open book exam that you will sit at your computer.

Do I get a completion certificate if I complete the course?

Yes — provided you receive a pass mark (50% or over) for course assessment, which comprises the exam and any available participation marks.

Will the course qualify me for university credit?

Successful completion of three IT Masters free short courses may make you eligible for university credit. For more information on university credit with IT Masters, please visit this webpage.
