Free Short Course: Photoshop in the Classroom

  • The Adobe Digital Curriculum
  • Introduction to Photoshop
  • Exploring new ideas, strategies and specific tools for integrating print production and graphic design activities into the curriculum.

Unit 2

  • Manipulating images
  • Evaluating digital images
  • Transforming images

Unit 3

  • Developing print production and graphic design activities that are relevant and appropriate for the target audience
  • Setting project requirements
  • Example projects

Unit 4

  • Identifying design elements when preparing images
  • Understanding Adobe Photoshop Extended

This short course is free to undertake but you will require Adobe Photoshop CS6 or CS5 to participate – you can download a free 30 day trial here. All other reference materials are free material that can be accessed electronically.

Q1: What was the aim of this short course?

Answer: The aim of the short course is to give you a ‘taster’ of what it is like to undertake postgraduate study via Online Education with Charles Sturt University.  The Photoshop in the Classroom short course covers the first part of a subject ITI569 Digital Curriculum 2 from the Master of ICT in Education.   

Q2: Who is the target audience for this course?

Answer: This course is aimed at K-12 teachers who would like to be able to utilise Adobe Photoshop to develop and deliver engaging, technology-rich learning activities

Q3: Who presented the Webinars?

Answer: The webinars were presented by Chantelle Hale: Chantelle designed, developed and delivers the two Adobe subjects that we offer in the Master of ICT in the Classroom and she has worked extensively with the full suite of Adobe products in both business and education environments. She is an engaging presenter who is passionate about exploring new ideas, strategies and specific tools for integrating IT into the curriculum.

Chantelle has a Bachelor of Multimedia Business and Computing, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and is an Adobe Certified Associate in Adobe Photoshop.  She is in the final stages of completing her Graduate Diploma of ICT in Vocational Education with Charles Sturt University after which Chantelle plans to complete a Master degree at Charles Sturt University.  

Q4: Do I get a certificate if I complete the course?

As the official sitting period has now lapsed, no more certificates are able to be issued. You are still able to complete the exam for your own benefit and test your knowledge.
